In the morning of April 6, 2016, the 94^th anniversary of Xiamen University witnessed the unveiling ceremony of School of Aerospace Engineering ,Xiamen University ,which  marked the higher education and research of Xiamen University in aerospace stepping into a new stage of rapid development.
        Xiamen University sincerely invited Yin Zeyong, an expert on aero-engine from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, to be the first dean of the school. The party secretary of Xiamen University Zhang Yan, the president of Xiamen University Zhu Chongshi, the assistant general manager of China Aviation Industry Corporation Liu Jinghong, the first dean of the School of Aerospace Engineering Yin Zeyong  unveiled the plaque to open the new school together . Domestic well-known research institute and enterprise of aeronautics and astronautics, the leaders of aviation departments from other universities and the leadership of Xiamen University, the leaders of relevant departments, the delegation of teachers and students attended the ceremony.
