Que Duanlin, China semiconductor materials expert, former vice president of Zhejiang University, graduated from department of Electrical Engineering in Xiamen University, and remained on the school staff after graduation; Mainly engaged in the research of thermoelectric materials, built the China’s first thermoelectric engine, the first one adopting silane method to make pure silicon, and completed a set of technical research on the production of high purity silane and polycrystalline silicon by 1970.
