Jun-Yi Miao is a Distinguished Professor at the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics of National Cheng Kung University. He is also the CEO of NCKU Research & Development Foundation. He obtained his B. S. in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University in 1976, M. S. and Ph. D in Engineering (Fluid Mechanics) from Brown University in 1981 and 1984. In 1978, he worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of National Taiwan University for 2 years. He became a Associate Professor at Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics in National Cheng Kung University in1984. He has been a Professor, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, National Cheng Kung University since 1991.During 1995 to1998, he was appointed as the Chairman, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, National Cheng Kung University. And in 1996, he joined the Aerospace Science Technology Research Center, National Cheng Kung University as a director. He worked as a deputy director at Research and Services Headquarters of National Cheng Kung University in 2007 and director general at National Space Organization of National Applied Research Laboratories in 2008 and 2009. He has become CEO of NCKU Research & Development Foundation since 2011. His research interests include Experimental fluid dynamics; flow measurement; MEMS sensors applications in experimental fluid dynamics; space system engineering; nano-satellite design.
